Band Coaching
We call our rock band program band coaching because It’s not a music class – it’s a band! Students collaborate with musicians of similar age and ability to learn to play their favorite songs, write original material, and polish their performances. Band coaches support each student while leading the band to develop their own sound, including diving deep into songwriting. Bands perform live at our Replay Rock School showcases at iconic music venues in New York City.
Band Coaching meets once a week for a 1.5-hour session.
Fall Semester fee (12 weeks): $950
Winter/Spring Semester fee (18 weeks): $1,395

Our Philosophy
Replay Rock School’s rock band program allows beginning and seasoned young musicians to hone their skills with players of similar age and experience. Hard work goes into forming groups so that kids have the right teacher based on their interests and abilities. The staff at Replay Rock School respects the musical style and personality of every student, and instruction is customized for every group. Young musicians are treated as emerging artists. They receive the tools and support they need to make music that is expressive, honest and distinct. Performance opportunities include winter and spring showcases at a local downtown venue, as well as other neighborhood events.
Create
Our primary goal is to create an environment where every child feels inspired to express their musical voice and every band develops a personality to call its own, in the studio and on stage.
Collaborate
We encourage collaborative and expressive original music-making. No musician is too young or inexperienced to learn how to write their favorite songs.
Demonstrate
Cover songs function as a way for band coaches to demonstrate and explain the fundamentals of what makes a song. They also serve to teach the process of playing with others in a band setting.
Experiment
We do not strive for perfection. We strive for expressiveness, engaged experimentation, and collaboration — all while making music and having fun.
Search
We call it a Rock Band Program, but we like Rock as an umbrella term for many possible styles of music. Every band will be searching for a different sound or sounds, and we hope to help them get there.
Trust
While improving technique is an important part of developing as a musician, we believe the real stuff happens when kids learn to trust and explore their own creative instincts.
Bands meet monday-Friday*
90-minute Sessions are held after-school hours based on each bands’ availability
Sessions held at Music Makers NY, 260 W 36th St, Manhattan but may meet at other rehearsal studios in NYC.
*Some weekend availability by request.
End-Of-Semester Performance – play for friends and family!

Private lessons
Private lessons are available for students ages 8-18. Learn guitar, bass, drums, vocals, keys, songwriting & music production: in-studio, at-home and virtual options available. All experience levels welcome!
