Replay was founded in 2012 with the simple idea that musicians of all ages in NYC deserve a better place to play and learn. We have since grown into a musical community that welcomes all generations and levels of experience, from professionals to young beginners, offering the same high quality, personalized service and attention to detail that keeps them coming back for more.

How We Teach
We believe that every kid has a unique voice and enough music in their minds to keep them growing and inspired for a lifetime. Our job is to help our students experiment and learn from the music they are willing to share, and to provide a platform upon which they can create. Replay coaches encourage students to cover their favorite songs, and to use what they learn to write original music. By engaging in this process, we hope to inspire our students’ sense of self-trust and collaborative spirit, both on and off the stage.
Create
Our primary goal is to create an environment where every child feels inspired to express their musical voice and every band develops a personality to call its own, in the studio and on stage.
Encourage
We encourage collaborative and expressive original music-making. No musician is too young or inexperienced to learn how to write their favorite songs.
Demonstrate
Cover songs function as a way for band coaches to demonstrate and explain the fundamentals of what makes a song. They also serve to teach the process of playing with others in a band setting.
Experiment
We do not strive for perfection. We strive for expressiveness, engaged experimentation, and collaboration — all while having fun.
Search
We call it a Rock Band Program, but we like Rock as an umbrella term for many possible styles of music. Every band will be searching for a different sound or sounds, and we hope to help them get there.
Trust
While improving technique is an important part of developing as a musician, we believe the real stuff happens when kids learn to trust and explore their own creative instincts. PROGRAM INFO (add link)

It’s so peaceful and calm upon entering – the acoustics are phenomenal – everything is bright and sparkly – John and others are really friendly and helpful – The best thing about this place is that you can record your entire rehearsal on HD video (the hardware is all set up and all you need to do is click “Capture” on an iMac inside the studio) and have it plopped right on to your dropbox.
They’ve got amazing amps of bass and guitar – beautiful Yamaha CP4 stage pianos in each room – high quality drum backline – the works!
I can’t even believe this place exists – the only gripe is it’s hard to get slots sometimes – because it’s that good!”
